Wigs

Wigs Experiment

Today in class we learnt how to apply wigs and all about different types of wigs.

There are 2 different types of wigs Lace front wigs and Scratch Front wigs.

  • ·      Lace Front Wigs- These are made from real hair and celebrities like Beyoncé wear these, they are very expensive. However you can style these wash them etc.
  • ·      Scratch front wigs- These are made from synthetic hair and are much cheaper price range starting from £25 and these can not be styled.

  •                   Step One
    ·      Start by combing through your model hair.
    ·      When picking a wig, you need to think about what hair style they would choose and also their head size because you need to make sure it fits and covers all of the models hair.
    ·      Depending on the length of the hair you need to decided whether to pin curl or plait the hair. You can also do both, if the hair is long you can plait the sides of the hair and pin curl the middle.

    Step Two
    ·      Once the hair is flat on the head, you then need to place the wig cap on.
    ·      You can buy these or make them yourself using a pair of tights.
    ·      Get your model to hold the front of the cap and then pull it all over the head, make sure all the hair is tucked in.
    Step Three

    ·      Once you have picked the wig you are going to use get the model to hold the front of it.
    ·      Pull the wig all over the head, make sure the model keeps holding the front of the wig all the time.
    ·      When it is on, move the wig around the make sure it sits well.
